    BOEING 747-400 DE QANTAS EN CARTAGENA<\/mark><\/p>\n

    REENCUENTRO CON UN VIEJO AMIGO<\/mark>

    Un operador tur\u00edstico de Australia llamado Constellation Journeys<\/strong><\/em> organiz\u00f3 un viaje alrededor del mundo<\/a>.<\/p>\n

    Este viaje se realiz\u00f3 en un Boeing 747-400<\/strong><\/strong> de Qantas, fletado exclusivamente para realizar el viaje. La salida fue en Sydney, y visitaron Seoul, Jerusal\u00e9n, Valletta, Barcelona, Cartagena, Lima-Cusco, Isla de Pascua y de ah\u00ed regresaron a Sydney.<\/p>\n[aesop_parallax img=”https:\/\/www.alpharamirez.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/constellationmap.jpg” parallaxbg=”off” captionposition=”bottom-left” lightbox=”off” floater=”off” floaterposition=”left” floaterdirection=”none” overlay_revealfx=”off”]\n

    Gracias a los buenos oficios de un gran amigo, yo pude ir a Cartagena a la llegada y salida del Avi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

    Para un avgeek<\/strong><\/em> como yo el asunto era muy interesante.<\/p>\n[aesop_parallax img=”https:\/\/www.alpharamirez.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/constellationcover.jpg” parallaxbg=”off” captionposition=”bottom-left” lightbox=”off” floater=”off” floaterposition=”left” floaterdirection=”none” overlay_revealfx=”off”]\n

    Para empezar, un Boeing 747<\/strong><\/strong> de pasajeros en Colombia es una cosa rara. Que el Avi\u00f3n sea de una aerol\u00ednea de un pa\u00eds tan lejano (Australia) que no tiene vuelos por itinerario a Colombia, a\u00fan m\u00e1s.<\/p>\n[aesop_parallax img=”https:\/\/www.alpharamirez.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/constellationctg.jpg” parallaxbg=”off” captionposition=”bottom-left” lightbox=”off” floater=”off” floaterposition=”left” floaterdirection=”none” overlay_revealfx=”off”]\n

    Y para m\u00ed, result\u00f3 muy sorpresivo y grato saber que el Avi\u00f3n elegido para el tour era el VH-OEE<\/strong><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    El vuelo hab\u00eda sido anunciado con meses de anticipaci\u00f3n, y ya sab\u00edamos la aerol\u00ednea, la fecha, el origen, el destino y el tipo de Avi\u00f3n. Pero la matr\u00edcula exacta del Avi\u00f3n que iban a enviar no se sab\u00eda en ese momento.<\/p>\n

    Y yo pensaba:<\/p>\n

    -“\u00bfSer\u00e1 que mandan el<\/strong><\/em> VH-OEE<\/strong><\/strong>?”<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

    Pero luego dec\u00eda:<\/p>\n

    -“Nah, de todos los<\/strong> Boeing 747-400<\/strong><\/strong> que tiene Qantas \u00bfpor qu\u00e9 iban a elegir ese?”<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

    \u00a1Pero s\u00ed! Result\u00f3 ser ese. Nos enteramos solo unos d\u00edas antes, cuando el tour inici\u00f3 en forma con el primer trayecto entre Sydney y Seoul.<\/p>\n

    Resulta que cuando yo viv\u00eda en Australia, yo vol\u00e9 en ese mism\u00edsimo Avi\u00f3n entre Brisbane y Sydney.<\/p>\n

    Y ese vuelo no solo fue delicioso por el simple hecho de estar viajando y de ser en un jumbo<\/strong><\/strong>, sino que fue el primer vuelo que tuve en casi un a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n

    Para mi significaba una especie de triunfo, ya que por razones que no tienen nada que ver con el pa\u00eds ni con lo que estaba haciendo all\u00e1, ese a\u00f1o hab\u00eda sido an\u00edmicamente muy duro para m\u00ed.<\/p>\n

    Sin embargo, hab\u00eda logrado hacer lo que me hab\u00eda propuesto y no le hab\u00eda fallado a ninguna de las personas que estaba confiando en m\u00ed all\u00e1, a pesar de las dificultades que les menciono.<\/p>\n

    As\u00ed que montarme en ese Avi\u00f3n despu\u00e9s de todo eso se sinti\u00f3 supremamente m\u00e1s dulce de lo que ser\u00eda en circunstancias “normales”<\/strong><\/em>. Y miren que estamos hablando de circunstancias “normales”<\/strong><\/em> de estar subi\u00e9ndome a un Boeing 747<\/strong><\/strong>… \u00a1Extra dulces por s\u00ed mismas!<\/p>\n

    Y a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s, \u00bfvenir a encontr\u00e1rmelo en Cartagena de todos los lugares? Para m\u00ed fue emocionante y me trajo de vuelta gratos recuerdos, m\u00e1s de cinco a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s de aquel vuelo.<\/p>\n

    Fuera de ver el Avi\u00f3n de nuevo, tom\u00e9 fotos de otros Aviones por supuesto.     BRISBANE – SYDNEY<\/mark><\/p>\n

    PRIMER ENCUENTRO SIGNIFICATIVO CON EL VH-OEE<\/mark>

    \n<\/i> Ruta:<\/strong> Brisbane (BNE) – Sydney (SYD)
    \n<\/i> Avi\u00f3n:<\/strong> Boeing 747-400

    Como les coment\u00e9, este vuelo ten\u00eda un componente personal especial que me hac\u00eda sentir much\u00edsimo mejor que de costumbre. Que fuera en Boeing 747-400<\/strong><\/strong> era solo la cereza del pastel.<\/p>\n

    Este vuelo era particular. Qantas ten\u00eda un vuelo que era Sydney – Dallas – Brisbane – Sydney.<\/p>\n

    La parada en Brisbane regresando de Dallas era debido a los vientos, en vuelo hacia Australia hac\u00edan que el Avi\u00f3n no llegara c\u00f3modo en combustible a Sydney.<\/p>\n

    Entonces para evitar cualquier clase de problema por eso, simplemente hac\u00edan que aterrizara en Brisbane, m\u00e1s al norte del pa\u00eds que Sydney, y a distancia adecuada para cumplir los par\u00e1metros de seguridad a\u00e9rea y reservas de combustible.<\/p>\n

    Una vez el Avi\u00f3n aterrizaba en Brisbane, era aprovisionado de combustible all\u00ed, y simplemente segu\u00eda su camino a Sydney. Pero en Qantas dijeron:<\/p>\n

    -“Pues ya que toca aterrizar en Brisbane, venda tiquetes en el vuelo de Brisbane a Sydney entonces a ver qu\u00e9 o qu\u00e9.”<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

    Por supuesto, Brisbane es la tercera ciudad del pa\u00eds, y seguramente a varias personas con destino final Brisbane les habr\u00e1 servido el vuelo. Pero el objetivo principal era Sydney.<\/p>\n

    Y bueno, adivinen \u00bfqui\u00e9n compr\u00f3 un tiquete en ese trayecto? Pues yoooooo.<\/p>\n

    En octubre de 2019, fecha en que escribo esto, el vuelo todav\u00eda existe. Pero ya es operado por Airbus A380-800<\/strong><\/strong>, y ese Avi\u00f3n si llega directo de Dallas a Sydney, entonces la parada en Brisbane no existe m\u00e1s.<\/p>\n

    El vuelo llegaba muy temprano a Brisbane, la hora de abordar para los que segu\u00edamos a Sydney era las 0550 local. A m\u00ed no me gusta madrugar, soy de trasnochar y funciono mejor de noche.<\/p>\n

    Pero igual, la madrugada era a pasear y volar. \u00a1Esa fue una de las madrugadas m\u00e1s felices de la \u00e9poca! Una \u00e9poca en la que madrugaba a trabajar entre las 0330 y 0400 local, aunque despertar a esa hora no fuera mi situaci\u00f3n favorita.<\/p>\n

    Siendo tan temprano, el transporte p\u00fablico usual no estaba funcionando del todo, y mis amiguis estaban dormidos.<\/p>\n

    Entonces tom\u00e9 un taxi que me dej\u00f3 en Roma Station<\/a>, y de ah\u00ed tom\u00e9 el tren<\/a> al Aeropuerto.<\/p>\n

    Como este vuelo llegaba a la zona internacional en Sydney (obviamente), en el pase de abordar pusieron un sticker naranja especial, para que los funcionarios de inmigraci\u00f3n all\u00e1 no lo procesaran a uno que solo estaba haciendo el tramo dom\u00e9stico.<\/p>\n

    Ese d\u00eda el elegido como ya sabr\u00e1n era el VH-OEE<\/strong><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    Al ingresar al Avi\u00f3n pude ver varios de los pasajeros que ven\u00edan de Dallas, con cara de destrucci\u00f3n. \u00a1Ese vuelo no es poca cosa! Si mal no recuerdo eran como 14 horas…<\/p>\n

    Me sent\u00e9 en mi puesto de ventana 51K<\/strong><\/strong>, y a mi lado estaba un Boeing 777-300<\/strong><\/strong> de Virgin Australia<\/strong><\/em>.     Fuimos remolcados a tiempo y nos dirigimos a la pista.     Uno de esos lugares era el Gateway Bridge<\/strong><\/em>, entre el Aeropuerto y el sector de la ciudad donde yo viv\u00eda.     Seguimos el ascenso poderoso y pronto estuvimos encima de las nubes que ten\u00edan gris la ma\u00f1ana de Brisbane ese d\u00eda.     A pesar de ser ya totalmente de d\u00eda y soleado, desde mi ventana se ve\u00eda la luna.     La salida era en la ma\u00f1ana, antes de las 0800 hora local. Pens\u00e9 que iba a haber m\u00e1s fila en el check-in pero no hab\u00eda casi nadie.<\/p>\n

    De ah\u00ed pas\u00e9 a seguridad, tambi\u00e9n estuvo \u00e1gil.<\/p>\n

    Cuando todo estuvo listo me sent\u00e9 a esperar, en la sala de espere hab\u00eda variada pelea por tama\u00f1os de maleta y pagos. Lo usual con las l\u00edneas de bajo costo, la gente no lee un carajo.<\/p>\n

    Es m\u00e1s, en los \u00faltimos vuelos que hab\u00eda hecho dom\u00e9sticos me hab\u00eda servido m\u00e1s Avianca precisamente porque resultaba m\u00e1s barato con las maletas que hab\u00eda tenido que llevar.<\/p>\n

    Pero la gente ni se preocupa por leer la letra peque\u00f1a… No me gustar\u00eda ser un agente de sala de una aerol\u00ednea de bajo costo. Todo el d\u00eda peleando con gente que no sabe leer y aguantando insultos porque quien est\u00e1 insultando no sabe leer.<\/p>\n

    Pero bueno, lleg\u00f3 la hora de abordar.     Abord\u00e9 y me sent\u00e9 de una en mi puesto, era el 1A<\/strong><\/strong> y no tuve que caminar nada.     Fuimos remolcados pues muy a tiempo, y comenzamos a rodar.     La ma\u00f1ana estaba nublada pero nada grave. Al ingresar a la pista 01 tuve una vista casi sin obstrucci\u00f3n de la misma por estar en el primer puesto del Avi\u00f3n.     Al d\u00eda siguiente de mi llegada a Cartagena llegaba el Boeing 747-400<\/strong><\/strong> de Qantas, procedente de Barcelona, Espa\u00f1a.<\/p>\n

    El d\u00eda anterior en la noche apareci\u00f3 el vuelo en los sitios web de rastreo y de AENA<\/strong><\/em><\/a>.     Eso no era del todo bueno ya que la luz a esa hora del d\u00eda es m\u00e1s bien fea, pero bueno, eso no estaba en mis manos.<\/p>\n

    Lo otro que me preocupaba era que el d\u00eda anterior a esa hora hab\u00eda habido una tormenta de mil demonios, como les coment\u00e9.<\/p>\n

    Si el patr\u00f3n de clima se repet\u00eda, no solo iba a llegar con luz fea, sino en tremendo aguacero.<\/p>\n

    Afortunadamente, la salida de Barcelona se retras\u00f3 algo, y aunque el d\u00eda estaba m\u00e1s bien gris, no hab\u00eda la tormenta del d\u00eda anterior.     As\u00ed que me reun\u00ed con mis buenos amiguis Gustavos<\/strong><\/strong><\/em> (son dos), y Sergio L<\/strong><\/strong>, y nos dirigimos al lugar que hab\u00edamos planeado para las fotos.<\/p>\n

    Justo cuando el Avi\u00f3n estaba en aproximaci\u00f3n, cambiaron la pista en uso del Aeropuerto.<\/p>\n

    Ahora no iba a aterrizar por la pista 01, sino por la 19.     Y apenas ah\u00ed el Boeing 747-400<\/strong><\/strong> de Qantas pudo moverse.     Veamos algo sobre el Avi\u00f3n y esos letreros que tiene.<\/p>\n

    Primero, el nombre de la aerol\u00ednea.<\/p>\n

    Qantas significa “Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services”<\/strong><\/em>. O sea, “Servicios A\u00e9reos de Queensland y el Territorio del Norte”<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

    Es la tercera aerol\u00ednea m\u00e1s antigua en operaci\u00f3n, despu\u00e9s de KLM y Avianca. Fue fundada originalmente en un pueblito llamado Winton, en 1920.<\/p>\n

    La aerol\u00ednea naci\u00f3 precisamente en Queensland<\/strong>, uno de los estados de Australia<\/strong>, en el cual yo viv\u00ed.<\/p>\n

    Al muy poco tiempo de fundaci\u00f3n mudaron sus cuarteles generales a otro pueblito<\/a> que se llama Longreach<\/strong><\/em>. Y de ah\u00ed uno de los letreros del Avi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

    Longreach<\/strong><\/em> es un lugar muy importante en la historia de Qantas, tan as\u00ed que hoy en d\u00eda hay un museo all\u00ed<\/a> con un Boeing 747<\/strong><\/strong> y un Boeing 707<\/strong><\/strong> en exhibici\u00f3n (entre otras cosas).<\/p>\n

    El edificio del primer hangar que tuvieron es considerado patrimonio hist\u00f3rico<\/a>.<\/p>\n

    En adici\u00f3n a eso, “Long Reach”<\/strong><\/em> en ingl\u00e9s significa “Largo Alcance”<\/strong><\/em>, y le queda perfectamente a los Boeing 747-400<\/strong><\/strong> que opera la aerol\u00ednea, pues tienen la capacidad de hacer vuelos largu\u00edsimos. Varios tienen el letrero de “Longreach”<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

    En 1930 movieron sus cuarteles a Brisbane, la capital del estado y la tercera ciudad de Australia. All\u00ed viv\u00ed.<\/p>\n

    Y actualmente tienen los cuarteles cerca al Aeropuerto de Sydney.<\/p>\n

    El nombre individual de este Avi\u00f3n es “Nullarbor”<\/strong><\/em>. En honor a una llanura al sur de Australia<\/a> donde hay una gran extensi\u00f3n de terreno \u00e1rido o pelado.<\/p>\n

    “Nullarbor”<\/strong><\/em> significa en lat\u00edn “Sin \u00c1rboles”<\/strong><\/em>, por lo que les acabo de describir.<\/p>\n

    El Aeropuerto de Cartagena no tiene calles de rodaje entre la plataforma y la pista. Entonces suelen crearse enredos y cuellos de botella cuando hay tr\u00e1fico.     Uno de los Pilotos estaba bastante contento de ver el mont\u00f3n de gente que se hab\u00eda acercado a ver a su jumbo<\/strong><\/strong>, y sali\u00f3 por la escotilla de escape del techo de la cabina a saludar.<\/p>\n[aesop_gallery id=”16569″ revealfx=”off” overlay_revealfx=”off”]\n

    Ah\u00ed estuvimos un rato, junto con una amiguis serpiente que estaba por el lugar.<\/p>\n

    A la serpiente la recogi\u00f3 el equipo de manejo de fauna del Aeropuerto.     Nos dijeron que en la noche se pod\u00edan meter a la pista, y pod\u00edan morir estripadas. Ojal\u00e1 ese sea el manejo que le den, no me gusta mucho que anden molestando los animalitos a cuenta de nada.<\/p>\n

    El d\u00eda termin\u00f3 en el Aeropuerto al tomarnos algo con mi buen amiguis Sergio D.<\/strong><\/strong> que hab\u00eda llegado volando un Dassault Falcon<\/strong><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    Le tom\u00e9 unas buenas fotos aterrizando que les mostrar\u00e9 m\u00e1s adelante.<\/p>\n

    Al otro d\u00eda me despert\u00e9 temprano a ver si hab\u00eda mejor luz para la foto.     En la tarde regres\u00e9 para ver el aterrizaje del Boeing 787-9<\/strong><\/strong> de KLM. El Avi\u00f3n lleg\u00f3 a tiempo, pero el clima estaba gris de nuevo.<\/p>\n

    Por un momento se vieron Aviones de KLM y Avianca al tiempo, las dos aerol\u00edneas m\u00e1s antiguas del mundo. Ambas cumplen 100 a\u00f1os en 2019, como van a ver en las fotos m\u00e1s adelante del Boeing 787-9<\/strong><\/strong> de KLM y del Airbus A320<\/strong><\/strong> retro<\/strong><\/em> de Avianca.<\/p>\n

    \u00a1Qantas es la tercera m\u00e1s antigua!     Ah\u00ed me fui a hacer otras cosas en la ciudad que no ten\u00edan que ver mucho con Aviaci\u00f3n, y solo regres\u00e9 a los dos d\u00edas para la salida del Avi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

    El Boeing 747-400<\/strong><\/strong> iba liviano, pues solo iba hasta Lima, Per\u00fa. Eso es un vuelo de unas tres horas aproximadamente desde Cartagena, y el Avi\u00f3n puede volar 14 o m\u00e1s.<\/p>\n[aesop_gallery id=”16766″ revealfx=”off” overlay_revealfx=”off”]\n

    En adici\u00f3n a eso no llevaba toda la carga de pasajeros que pod\u00eda, pues estaba en una operaci\u00f3n privada para el tour mencionado.<\/p>\n

    Condiciones perfectas para sacar el mejor desempe\u00f1o del Avi\u00f3n.     De nuevo ten\u00eda puesto en la primera fila del Avi\u00f3n, pero esta vez al otro lado, puesto 1F<\/strong><\/strong>.     Fuimos remolcados de nuevo a tiempo, ingresamos a la pista para dirigirnos a la cabecera 01, dar el giro de 180 grados, y despegar.<\/p>\n

    Aterrizamos suavemente y rodamos al gate 1B<\/strong><\/strong>, esta vez no iba a tocar desembarcar por escaleras.<\/p>\n

    Recog\u00ed pues mi equipaje y sal\u00ed del Aeropuerto. Viva estuvo totalmente puntual y a la altura, y si uno se digna a leer la letra chiquita puede ser una opci\u00f3n muy buena para los viajes.<\/p>\n

    Es m\u00e1s, yo recuerdo que cuando estaban iniciando y ten\u00edan los problemas de puntualidad yo alcanc\u00e9 a volar con ellos varias veces, y lo \u00fanico que me pas\u00f3 fue un retraso por un despegue abortado que casi termina en mot\u00edn.<\/p>\n

    Pero eso fue un asunto t\u00e9cnico, porque el vuelo inicialmente hab\u00eda salido a tiempo. Y esas cosas pasan en Aviaci\u00f3n, ni modo.<\/p>\n

    Ahora que tienen m\u00e1s Aviones y m\u00e1s nuevos, est\u00e1n mucho mejor.<\/p>\n

    Si uno lee la letra peque\u00f1a y no sirve, pues uno se va en otra, como he hecho yo que me ha resultado m\u00e1s barato Avianca muchas veces. Pero por favor, \u00a1lean!<\/p>\n

    Llegu\u00e9 pues a donde mis perritas esa noche, y la vida sigui\u00f3. Hab\u00edan sido unos d\u00edas geniales en Cartagena.<\/p>\n
